1. Mainsheets / Jib-sheets / Kite-sheets
Which rope should I go for:
- Team LIROS Favorite: Magic Edge is a dyneema core'd (SK78) sheet, perfect for high wear and high load blocks and applications. Low friction, a perfect dinghy sheet used by Team LIROS. Easy to splice and taper.
- Team LIROS Favorite: Magic Pro is a dyneema core'd (SK78 sheet, with low friction for slightly lower wear application than MAgic Edge, where block running performance is valued over wear and handling. Easy to splice and taper.
- Dynasoft has great in-hand feel, with a integrated structure (i.e. no core/cover combo), great for manisheets and jib-sheets where tapering isn't required.
- Magic Sport is perfect for lower load and non-tapering applications, club boats, junior fleets etc.
2. Halyards
Which rope should I go for?
Kite Halyards:
- Team LIROS Favorite: Magic XTR is a high-performance halyard perfect for high load and high performance kite halyard applications. SK78 Dyneema Core perfect for splicing. For Skiffs, Cats, and high-performance dinghies. Easy to splice and taper.
- Magic Pro is our performance halyard, perfect where a low friction, high grip halyard is needed, but it doesn't need to super tough cover of Magic XTR. Easy to splice and taper.
Main and Jib Halyards:
- Team LIROS Favorite: Dyneema SK78 and Dyneema SK99 are perfect for high load main halyard applications, easy to splice and perfect for all round halyard applications.
- Magic XTR, Magic Pro have the Dyneema Core, but with covers to help with wear around cleats and jammers.
- Magic Sport is perfect for a general use, perfect for uses where tapered halyards or high-loads aren't needed.
3. Control Lines
Which rope should I go for:
- Team LIROS Favorite: Magic XTR is a dyneema core'd (SK78) high-performance line, perfect for high wear and high load lines and cleats. Low friction but tough! A perfect dinghy control line used by Team LIROS. Easy to splice and taper.
- D-Pro SK78 Dyneema OR D-Pro XTR SK99 Dyneema, don't need a cover and love dyneema control lines? This is perfect! Easy to splice.
- Magic Control XTR is a specialist control line, for those high-performance applications where professional level riggers are splicing and tapering control lines. hard wearing close plait cover.
- Magic Sport is a good go-to option for uses where splicing and tapering isn't required. Simple!
4. Dyneema
Which rope should I go for:
- Team LIROS Favorite: D-Pro SK78 Dyneema is the GO TO Dyneema for 90% of Dingy application, a favourite among Team LIROS.
- Team LIROS Favorite: D-Pro XTR SK99 Dyneema covers those high-load and specialist applications that need extremely high breaking strengths.
